Navigational Aids and Beacons

 

HIBs are designed specifically to suit the needs of High-Speed Crafts.

It is the priority of the Norwegian Coastal Administration to ensure that navigational installations in the largest and most important coastal fairways are reliable.

The NCA administers more than 20.000 aids and beacons along the coastline. This includes 107 lighthouses with 2000 beacon lights, about 3500 lantern lights (600 HIBs), about 2000 floating beacons (1000 lighted), and about 1100 landmark beacons.
